Review: Berrisom Oops My Lip Tint Pack

30 July 2015

I first saw Berrisom My Lip Tint Pack on someone’s instagram feed and was very intrigued. Apply, peel off, and retains color for up to 12 hours? Naturally I had to go find out more about it!

True enough, many reviews online also indicated that this tint pack was exactly that. Now things are getting interesting…

I was next most concerned about exactly how this tint pack holds the color for so long. Does it contain some crazy chemical that tattoos itself to the skin or something?

Cosdna cleared the ingredient list, so no funky ingredient to endanger our lips. There is limited information available, but if I had to hazard a guess, I’d probably say it’s the coloring from the fruit extracts (cranberry for red, diluted for pink, etc). Maybe I’m wrong. I’ll be happy to hear alternative ideas!

I walked into a physical store in Japan and it was going for 1,5000 yen (about $15) a tube. Insane! I recalled seeing it go for cheaper online, so I left after testing the colors on my hand to see which color I want in order to purchase online (don’t deny it, I know you do it too!)

I eventually bought it on Wishtrend because it was only going for HALF the price! Score!!! Plus, I’ve been wanting to get a new Vitamin C serum (review in future here) and Wishtrend had a free shipping offer for the serum, so I bought them together and this also received free shipping!

This is officially my first time wearing red on my lips! Surprisingly, I liked this color best after trying it out on my hand. On my hand, it lasted for more than 12 hours. By the next morning, I was worried I’d have to go around with lipstick stains on my hand the rest of my life. (fortunately it finally came off on the second day)

Here’s how it looks on my lips:

Natural lips | With Berrisom My Lip Tint Pack in Sexy Red

The lip tint pack goes on like a thick lip gloss and once it dries completely (about 10 minutes) it can be peeled off. If you can peel it off in one piece, you’re a pro! Like me. *coughs*

The peeling process (so fun!)

Application was slightly tricky due to the applicator which was bulky and clumsy. There’s also a pretty strong fragrance and tingling sensation on the lips that I have to endure till it completely dries and I can’t say I enjoy that part of it.

– Do not apply anything on your lips before this lip tint

– Make sure you don’t have broken skin on your lips because it will hurt when you peel of the tint pack! I speak from experience.

– Apply to your upper lip first

Generally speaking, the color held up quite well; it did not transfer and lasted several hours. However, for me, the color completely disappeared by the 6-hour mark, instead of the advertised 12. But I’m guessing it’s due to my aligners. I have a tendency to lick my lips a lot due to my aligners and I also need to floss and brush after every single meal, which understandably leads to the shorter lifespan of the lip tint. Otherwise it is a pretty amazing product!

It faded evenly for me too, no ugly streaking or sinking into lip lines :)

Definitely an interesting product that lives up to the hype!

If you can tolerate the tingling on your lips and having to keep your mouth ajar for 10 minutes while it dries, you will be duly rewarded with long-lasting lip color! Assuming you don’t wear aligners or braces like me. Sigh.

Rating: 4/5

I bought it for $7.99 on Wishtrend.

Sounds really interesting as lipsticks never last on me.
Can I know if when it fades, will the color settles onto the lip lines?
I have rather dry lips so I wondering since I can’t get it off and if I am to spend a few hours with ugly lip strips I might cry, haha.

Hmm, I didn’t really observe how it faded. One moment it was there for me, and a couple hours later when I looked again, it was gone. I don’t really have very dry lips or deep lip lines, but in any case, let me use it again and observe how it fades. Will update this post (and you) once I’ve done it!

Hey, I used it today! It faded quite evenly for me, no ugly lip streaks as it faded! But just a disclaimer: I don’t know how different your lips are different from mine so I can only speak for my experience :) Still, I think it’s worth a try!
