Review: Holika Holika Baby Silky Foot One Shot Peeling – Hello Pretty Feet!

30 November 2015

HH-BSF

I love to experiment with new products, and this is one of them! I don’t remember how I came across this, but I was so intrigued to find out if it works that I bought 2 sets to try!

Yes, my husband is always unwittingly roped into partaking in such experiments. It’s always more fun when you explore the unknown with a partner in crime, isn’t it? It’s also called having shared experiences! Keeping the flame alive! I can become a marriage counsellor. *nods*

“Your marriage is getting dull? Go peel some feet together!”

WARNING
If pictures of feet and peeling skin give you the heebie-jeebies, then STOP READING HERE. It’s gonna get graphic. You’ve been warned!

Holika Holika Baby Silky Foot One Shot Peeling

What this product does is that it promises to peel off the dead skin on your feet in 7 days. Painlessly.

I don’t know about you, but the hardened dead skin that accumulates on the heels and the balls of the feet really irks me. I can be touching my foot, but not really feeling it because of the thick layer of skin. It’s like that part of my foot is dead T_T

It used to be much worse when I wore heels almost every day to work and the calluses built up. I’m sure girls will know what I’m talking about.

My foot >_<

However, at least I used to do pedicures quite regularly so at least the dead skin comes off and new skin can surface. The husband, on the other hand, effectively has the dead skin SINCE BIRTH. Eurgh.

His foot. You can't really tell, but the skin is hard like armor o_O

Off, it must come!

It’s very simple to use:

Contents inside one box: One pack of liquid for each foot and a pair of plastic socks with ties

Inside the sock is a thin cotton-fibre layer

Wearing them socks :D Turn on a show and forget about them for 1.5 hours.

Nicely bundled up. Tune into a show and forget about them for 1.5 hours!

The liquid doesn’t have any smell, and there is no discomfort like stinging or burning while wearing the socks. You just feel like you’re wearing a soggy sock, which is well, technically what you’re doing.

After 1.5 hours, we removed them and washed our feet. Everything still looks the same.

I read online that nothing happens till the 4th day, and it’s true! Our feet look like they always do for the next 3 days, dead skin and all.

Come Day 4:

HH8

Omg, yes!!! It’s starting! Why is it so freakishly accurate? It’s like they deliberately lie in wait and count down the days.

Day 1: Nothing. We’re gonna make you wait, human!
Day 2: Nope, we’re still not gonna do anything.
Day 3: Heh, we’re gonna tease you a bit more, because we CAN!
Day 4: LEEEEEETT’S GO! Aaaaaand, we’re right on time! As always.

Instructions are not to peel the skin and gently scrub it off with water.

Don’t peel it??? LIKE HELL ANYONE CAN RESIST PEELING IT! Not me, for sure!

Yeeees, dead skin, COME OFF!

Yeeeesss, goodbye dead skin!

Looks scary? It’s strangely not painful at all!

New skin vs old skin

Had a bit too much fun peeling...

Had a bit too much fun peeling…

As the days go by (Day 4, 5, 6), a bit more will peel off. We had to take our socks off in the bathroom because the dead skin will just fly everywhere like snowflakes otherwise D:

It’s slightly inconvenient because when walking around the house during these shedding days, we would leave a trail of dead skin in our wake. On hindsight it was probably better to keep socks on during the shedding because I ended up vacuuming non-stop.

Apart from that, despite how it looks, the peeling process didn’t hurt at all!

Death to dead skin!

Death to dead skin!

True to its word, on Day 7, the peeling stopped and we were both left with BABY. SOFT. SKIN.

The husband was commenting he felt a bit vulnerable because his feet felt so soft. His armour built up over a lifetime lost in just a week LOL.

Verdict

Holika Holika Baby Silky Foot One Shot Peeling promised to transform feet into baby soft skin in 7 days. And it delivered exactly that. It works, and with zero pain!

The only thing I would do differently is to wear socks during the peeling process so that I won’t drive my neighbours crazy with my intermittent vacuuming throughout the day.

Otherwise, this worked very well for both of us and I definitely won’t hesitate to use it again!

Hi. I’d like to ask something. in the 4th days, my feet doesn’t peel like yours. Is there any instruction to do before we start peeling it?

Nope, there’s absolutely nothing to do apart from waiting for the peeling to start! It’s odd why yours didn’t peel. Did you soak your feet in the solution for at least 1.5 hours?
